Preferences: Content > Media Types
Click , and select Preferences: Content > Media Types.
This preferences page provides you with these options:
- Make RealPlayer my Universal Media Player (Default: not selected) — By choosing this option, you make RealPlayer your default application for RealMedia, MP3, Windows Media, and other media types. When you launch media files, they will automatically open with RealPlayer.
- Manually configure media types for RealPlayer (Default: selected) — You may select which media types are configured for RealPlayer. Click Select... to open the Media Types dialog, which lists
all the supported media types and the currently assigned default player for
each type. Scroll through the list and select or clear the media types
that you would like RealPlayer to play by default. You can also click
Select All to select all the
currently supported media types, or Deselect All
so that none of the media types is selected. When done, click OK to save your selections.
Media Types preferences will not be available if you are
logged onto Windows as a guest or another limited user.
To change these preferences you must have an administrative-level account.
RealNetworks is constantly working to expand the abilities
of RealPlayer. As you add plug-ins
to RealPlayer, the list of supported media types will change.
When you select this preference page, RealPlayer will
take a moment to determine what media types are supported and whether
they are selected.
- Web Browser Settings — Select which web browser RealPlayer uses. The list shows the browsers installed on your computer.
Not all services and features are available in all countries.
Services and features will be added as they become available.
