Converting Files

RealPlayer Convertercan convert many files at once, convert one file into multiple formats, or save only the audio from a video file.

Each device profile has default settings designed to work well on that device. You can adjust the settings to get smaller files (to fit more onto one device) or to get the highest quality. See Viewing and Setting Device Details to learn more.

How do I convert files?

1. There are several ways to start converting: :

• FromRealPlayer Converter:

  Drag and drop files or folders to the area that says "Drag Files to Convert Here" (the conversion queue). If you drag a folder, the entire contents will be listed.

  Or click Add. Choose a file to convert and click Open.

• From RealPlayer Cloud: Open the Library and click Photos & Videos in the sidebar. Select the video you wish to convert. Select More > Convert. (Convert applies only to files that are on your PC.)

2. Review your choices.

• Clear any individual file from the conversion queue by clicking the X by the file name. Or click Clear All to empty the queue.
• 1. To change to another device, click . (The button shows the current device profile.) The "Select a Device" dialog opens.
  2. Click your device type. (Click details to adjust the format, quality, and resolution of files associated with that device type.)
  3. Click OK.
• By default, Save in is set to Same directory as original. (The converted file will have the same name and a new file extension, such as wakeup.flv and wakeup.wma.) Use the drop-down menu to choose My Music, My Videos, or to browse for another location.
• By default, RealPlayer Converter adds your converted files to your Library. To change this setting, open the RealPlayer Converter menu and select Preferences.

3. When all of the settings are to your liking, click Start.

The progress bar shows how much of the conversion is complete.

The numbers to the right of the bar show how much time is left until the conversion is complete.

When the conversion is complete, your converted files will be in the location selected under Save in.

4. The "Conversion Complete" dialog opens. It shows a basic overview of the conversion results.

Changes made here apply to this batch only. To use the same settings each time you use RealPlayer Converter, set them through Preferences.

Click OK when you are finished.

Now what?

You can open the converted file by clicking the underlined link in the conversion queue. You can open the containing folder by clicking .
