From the Menu bar, select Tools > Preferences: Automatic Services.
Various automatic services run at all times while your RealPlayer is open, periodically checking that everything is up to date.
In addition, some services can be selected to run in the background, even when the RealPlayer is not open (such as the Message Center). Services that require information from the internet will be deferred until the next time you are logged onto the internet. (Automatic Services will not initiate an internet connection.) Use these Preferences to customize Automatic Services.
Configure Message Center: Click to open the "Message Center Preferences" dialog.
New Player Version: Select for notification when a new version of RealPlayer is available and to get automatic updates for new web browsers and devices. This preference affects all RealPlayer components, including RealPlayer Converter.
Watch Folders: Select to let RealPlayer periodically scan your Watch Folders for media files that have not yet been added to My Library. The Player then creates a clip for each file and adds it to My Library. (The new clips can be found in the New Clips category.) Setting this preference under Automatic Services also sets the same preference in My Library Preferences.
Devices: Select to launch RealPlayer automatically, opened to the Burn page, when you connect a portable device to your computer. This is similar to launching your RealPlayer automatically when a CD is inserted into a CD drive. (You must install a plug-in for the device before you can use this option.)
Note: Not all services and features are available in all countries. Services and features will be added as they become available.
