File Menu

Contains controls that relate to opening and importing files.

Option

 

Description

New Player

Opens a new RealPlayer window.

New Browser

Opens a blank browser window.

Open File...

Opens a Finder window. Navigate to a RealPlayer-compatible file on your hard drive or network and click Open to play it.

Open Location...

Type the URL (internet address) of a streamed media file (for example: .rm, .ra, or .ram) into the Open Location text box.

If the Real Player Browser is open, type the URL in the address bar.

Close

Closes the currently selected RealPlayer window.

Print...

Prints the contents of the frontmost RealPlayer window.

Recent Clips

History of your most recently played clips. Select a clip from this list to play the clip again. You can select the number of clips displayed in your General Preferences.

Pressing Command key-Option while selecting a recently played local clip will display the location of the clip.

Clear/Restore Recent Clips

Clears the Recent Clips list in the menu above. /
Restores most recently cleared clips (if selected within 10 seconds of clearing the list).
