Create a Playlist

Playlists are your own custom groupings of clips that RealPlayer will play in sequence. They can be any combination of audio clips or video clips — any media types that RealPlayer can play, whether they're on your computer or out on the internet. Found in the My Library "Playlists" category, playlists take up very little space on your hard drive, because each is simply a list of shortcuts to the media files you have grouped together.

See Playlists for more information.

Create a Playlist

  1. Open My Library.
  2. Select the specific clips that you want in the playlist by highlighting them.
  3. In the sidebar Tasks area, click New Playlist. The "New Playlist" wizard opens.
  4. Type the name of your new playlist in the space provided.
  5. Choose the clips for your playlist.
  1. Click OK. RealPlayer places the new playlist under the Playlists category in My Library.

To play the playlist, select it from the Playlists category and click the Play button on the Player Control bar. The clips play in order, from top to bottom.

Good to Know

You can change the clip order

You can change the clip order within any playlist at any time. Just double-click on a playlist to open its collection of clips in the My Library Display area. Then rearrange the clips by dragging and dropping them into a different order. By clicking Add Clips in the sidebar Tasks area, you can add more clips.

You can place your custom playlists into their own folders

  1. Open My Library.
  2. If necessary, click Show Organizer in the sidebar Tasks area to open the Organizer. Select Playlists in the Organizer.
  3. Right-click anywhere in the Organizer to open a contextual menu. Select New Playlist Folder. The "New Playlist Folder" dialog opens.
  4. Type the name of the new playlist folder.
  5. Select the playlist folder (or subfolder) you want the new folder to be located in.
  6. Click OK to exit the "New Playlist Folder" dialog. The new playlist folder appears in the Display area.

Note: You can drag and drop playlists and playlist folders into and out of playlist folders within the Organizer.
