- Windows attempts to use RealPlayer with Palm devices that are set to "Media Sync" mode. This does not work. Palm devices must be set to "USB drive" mode.
- RealPlayer cannot copy pictures to Apple devices.
- Music that has album art in the Library may not display album art in the To Device tab.
- If you make changes to a connected device's contents outside of RealPlayer, such as creating new folders or deleting files using Windows Explorer, changes will not appear in the From Device tab. Copying may fail. To view changes, disconnect and reconnect the device or restart RealPlayer.
Uploading
- RealPlayer does not allow you to upload videos that already exist on the internet. These files will display a source URL in the Library in either thumbnail or list view.
- Music cannot be shared at this time.
RealPlayer Trimmer
- WMV files that use the MSS2 codec cannot be trimmed.
- Videos from some digital video cameras may not show an audio waveform in the trimmer timeline bar when switching from Thumbnail to Waveform view.

- If RealPlayer Trimmer is in use when an H.264 codec is installed, RealPlayer Trimmer must be restarted before it will use the codec.
- Saving a picture from a WMV or MP4 will result in a black image.
Video downloading/recording
- In Chrome, the Download This Video button may not be available when multiple tabs are open.
- Firefox versions prior to 3.5.8 are not fully supported. If you have trouble downloading from Firefox, upgrade Firefox.
- Internet Explorer 9 may need to be restarted in order for the Download This Video button to appear.

- Cancelling a WMV file background recording may result in an empty video file in the Library.
- The Download button's "Save As" option fails with RealMedia embedded clips.
- The Download button's "Save As" option may cause a crash if used from Internet Explorer 6 or 7 on Windows XP. Clicking the main Download This Video button does not have this issue.

- The Download This Video button does not always work when playing a video from Facebook Videos.
DVD/VCD Burning

- Six channel audio is not supported for AVCHD burning at this time. Six channel audio is supported for DVD burning.
DVD Playback
- DVD playback works best in RealPlayer Plus with the Plus DVD playback components installed. On computers without the Plus DVD playback components, DVD playback may not work, or may play only the video with no audio. In these cases, if you wish to play DVDs in RealPlayer you will need to upgrade to RealPlayer Plus and install the Plus DVD playback components.
- Seeking during previews on some DVDs may cause RealPlayer to crash or hang.
- Some DVDs show green bars around the content in Theater Mode. Changing the color space may solve this. Go to > Preferences: DVD. Under Advanced, select RGB.
- Some DVDs burned by RealPlayer will not play on Windows Vista. Changing the color space may solve this. Go to > Preferences: DVD. Under Advanced, select RGB.

- Windows Media clips with uncommon frame widths (such as 427 px) may not convert, even though they play in RealPlayer.
- RealPlayer Converter is designed to convert your personal unprotected VOB files from home videos that have one audio track. Converting from VOB files with multiple audio tracks may have unexpected results.
- RealPlayer Converter cannot convert files with content protection.
- Converting videos shot in portrait mode may have unexpected results.
- Files converted from WAV into any other format do not retain Clip Info. This is a limitation of the WAV format.
Miscellaneous
