How to Use Private Mode

RealPlayer Private mode allows you to hide some of your RealPlayer activity. Private mode can help to keep another person from stumbling onto content that you choose to keep private.

You control private mode access with a PIN code. The first time you use Private mode, you will create your PIN. This is separate from your RealPlayer Plus 16 password. Your PIN is tied to your computer.

How to turn on Private mode
  1. Click .
  2. Enter your PIN.
  3. Click OK.
How to make a clip private
  1. In your Library, select a clip and right-click.
  2. Select Make this file Private.

When you make a clip private, RealPlayer moves the file to a hidden folder and changes its name.

How to make a Private clip public again
  1. In your Library, select a Private clip and right-click.
  2. Select Make this file Private.

The file will be moved from the hidden folder to a public media location for that file type, such as Videos or Music.

How to use Download This Video in Private mode

If you are browsing the internet and see a video you would like to download in Private mode, you can turn on Private mode from RealDownloader.

  1. On the RealDownloader window, click . (You can open the RealDownloader window from the Windows Start menu.)
  2. RealPlayer will open for you to enter your PIN.

Any hidden files are marked with a private mode icon. (In list view, the hidden files are in red text.)
