AutoUpdate

When you are working online, AutoUpdate performs three levels of updates:

Fully Automatic: Automatically downloads (from RealNetworks) and installs critical data and software affecting RealPlayer Cloud or RealNetworks subscription services. This feature is enabled by default. To disable it, go to > Preferences > Automatic Services > AutoUpdate. When performing an AutoUpdate, your computer will communicate with RealNetworks to determine what, if any, updates are needed. See RealNetworks Privacy Policy for details.

On Demand: When RealPlayer Cloud tries to perform a function for which it doesn't have the software (for example, playing a MIDI file without a MIDI plug-in), RealPlayer Cloud will request the required software from RealNetworks. The software is then downloaded and installed automatically. If the Automatically download option is not enabled ( > Preferences > Automatic Services > AutoUpdate), a dialog opens and asks you to confirm before RealPlayer Cloud downloads and installs the software.
Manual Update: When you select > Check for Update, RealPlayer Cloud checks for new and updated software. If new software is available, the "AutoUpdate" dialog will open and show you a list. Select the software you want to download and install, then click Install. RealPlayer Cloud will download and install the requested software.

Software Download and Installation

On the right side of the "AutoUpdate" dialog, the Currently Selected panel lists the software or other updates you have selected to download and install. The list also adds the following information:

Heading		Description
Download time...		The time needed to download, based on your normal connection speed. (Set speed in > Preferences > Connection.)
Total download size:		The total size in megabytes of all the compressed files you have selected to download.
Space needed to install:		The hard drive space in megabytes needed to install the downloaded files once they have been decompressed. This includes space for temporary files and is usually larger than the final space needed for the plug-in or update.
