Player Controls

The Player Controls shown below can be found in the RealPlayer window. The actions described for each control will work only when you already have a clip loaded (ready to play).

Window Controls

Standard controls to close, minimize, and zoom the window.

Real Guide

Click to open Real Guide in the Player Browser.

RealPlayer Downloader

RealPlayer Downloader

Click to open RealPlayer Downloader.

Resize tab

Resize Player

Click and hold the RealPlayer resize tab (lower-right corner of RealPlayer window), then drag to resize the whole window.

 

Player Control Bar

Play

Plays a clip from the beginning or from where you paused it. (Becomes Pause button when playing.)

Pause

Pauses playback of the clip. (Becomes Play button when paused.) Press Play to resume where clip left off.

Note: When you resume playback, there may be a delay while RealPlayer reconnects to the clip. Long pauses may cause loss of connection to an online clip.

Stop

Stops playback and resets clip to the beginning.

Back

Click and hold to fast rewind the current clip. Click to go to the previous clip in a multi-file clip.

Forward

Click and hold to fast forward the current clip. Click to go to the next clip in a multi-file clip.

Position Slider

Click and drag the Tracking button along the position slider, or just click on the position slider, to move playback closer to the end or the beginning of the clip.

The vertical tick mark indicates where you last stopped viewing the current clip.

Mute On

Mute Off

Mute

Temporarily sets the volume of your RealPlayer to zero (Mute On). The current clip continues to play unless you stop or pause it. Click again to return volume to its previous level (Mute Off).

Volume
Slider

Drag the volume button to adjust volume. Volume level is indicated by the green bar.
