Status Display

The Status Display is your connection information center. Find out at a glance about the clip status, format, and the quality of your connection to the internet.

Description

If available, the title or file name of the current clip appears at the top of the RealPlayer, above the Status Display.

 

You will see the word "Contacting" while RealPlayer finds and connects to the content site.

 

During loading, you will see a loading icon indicating that action is taking place, but not yet finished; the word "Loading" and the percentage complete will also be displayed.

Status of the clip: Playing , Paused , or Stopped .

Severe

Net Health is indicated by the color of the Play Icon. Blue represents a good connection. Orange represents minimal information loss.  Red indicates severe information loss; rebuffering is necessary. Rebuffering will cause a short pause in playback.

The Format Indicator shows the data format of the clip.

Secure Content

Content is protected either for streaming or copying or for both.

Stream bandwidth in kilobytes per second (Kbps).



Indicates you are playing a live clip (for example: a radio station); Time played/Live.

Indicates you are playing a recorded clip (for example a *.rm file); Time Played/ Total Clip Length.

Note: To show tenths of a second in the counter, click the time indicator. Click again to restore the counter to whole seconds.
