Import Media Files
If you have existing media files on your
hard drive, even music you saved using another
program, RealPlayer makes it simple for you to import those files to My Library.
You can import any supported media formats
as well as playlists from products other than RealPlayer.
Importing files into RealPlayer
does not change the location of the files on your hard drive. RealPlayer simply creates a shortcut to the
file through My Library. (See Media Clips
for details.)
Import All
Media Files
- Open File > Scan
Disk For Media... from the Menu bar.
- The "Scan Disk for Media" dialog opens. You want the default options, All Drives and Include subfolders. Click Next
to continue.
- All file types are chosen by default. You can deselect any or all types. Click Next.
RealPlayer will search all of your hard drives for available media
files and import them into My Library.
- When RealPlayer
has finished importing clips, click Finish
to close the dialog.
Import Selected
Files
- Open File > Add Files To My Library... from the Menu bar.
- Select the desired
drive and folder.
- Select the file or files
you want to import.
- Click Open
to import the files.
Convert Media
Format
- Open My Library.
- Select the clip or clips
you want to convert.
- Open Tools > Convert
Media Format... . The "Convert Media Info" dialog opens.
(There is an introductory screen the first time you use this feature. Click Continue.)
- Under New
Clip, change the Clip Name, Format and Quality level as desired.
(When multiple clips are selected, clip title cannot be changed.)
- If desired, choose Additional Options such as Clip Info,
Erase the current clip..., or Create a new playlist... .
- Click OK
to convert your clip or clips.
