RealPlayer can play a variety of media types, including those on the internet, those stored as local files on your computer, or CDs and DVDs. To make it easy to organize all your media, regardless of its format and location, RealPlayer remembers all the file location details and lists them simply as media clips.
Functionally, a media clip is similar to a shortcut or bookmark. It contains information about the media you have access to, such as title, artist, format, size and location. When you store or move media clips in My Library, you aren't moving the file associated with the clip; all you move is the clip information. Likewise, when you delete a clip or a playlist, all you are deleting are the clips, not the media files that the clips bookmark.
To view a history list of your most recently played clips, just open File in the Menu bar. You will see up to 8 numbered clips, with the most recently played clip at the top of the list.
To play a clip in the History list, double-click it.
To enable, disable, or clear your History list, open Tools > Preferences > General to the "History" section.
