Configure Your Portable Device

You can configure RealPlayer to automatically convert music files to a specific bitrate and mediaformatwhen you copy them to your portable music device. You can also configure how your portable device stores and plays these music files.

Note: This procedure is for "queue and commit" devices (devices that do not automatically synchronize their contents).

Configure a Portable Device 

  1. Open Burn/Transfer.
  2. Select your device from the Current Burner/Device drop-down menu.
  3. Click Configure Device... in the sidebar. The "Configure" dialog opens. Select the desired options.
  4. Click OK to accept the changes and close the "Configure" dialog.

When to convert

Convert tracks only if necessary (Default: On): Only converts tracks when the existing format is not compatible with the device. The original file is unchanged.

Always convert tracks: Converts all the media you are transferring to the same format and bitrate.

Convert Tracks To

Format: Select a compatible format from the drop-down list.

Quality: Select the desired bitrate from the drop-down list.
