Description

Installed Devices

List of installed devices. Select a device to enable or disable. If the device you want to use is not listed, you will need to install it. (See Add a New Device.)

Note: The CD burner cannot be disabled or enabled and is therefore not listed.

Disable/
Enable Device

Click to disable the device currently selected in the Installed Devices list. This will disable the associated support drivers and keep RealPlayer from using them, but will not remove the drivers from your computer. (Disabled devices will not be listed in the Burn/Transfer page.) Select and click again to enable a device.

Optimize transfer...

To speed transfers to portable devices that do not support secure RealAudio files (RAX), RealPlayer can create ready-to-transfer copies of your music in a format that is supported by your device. These files require additional disk space that can be recovered by using the Delete Optimized Files option described below.

Create ready-to-transfer files...: Creates and saves ready-to-transfer files of each secure RealAudio download.

Cache ready-to-transfer files...: Saves a ready-to-transfer copy of only the files you transfer to a portable device. Subsequent transfers will be faster.

Advanced Settings

Optimize File Formats:

Select a cache file format. For example, iPod or Windows Media device.

Note: Windows Media device also offers several audio format options from the drop-down menu.

Optimized File Management:

Delete Optimized Files: Click to delete all of your ready-to-transfer files. This will regain disk space but will not delete the original files from your library or your hard drive.

Automatic Launch

(Default: Off) Select to launch RealPlayer whenever you connect a portable device to your computer.
