Description

PerfectPlay

Live Pause:

Enable pausing and seeking (Default: On) Creates a temporary cache of live streaming media. Select cache size from the drop-down menu.

Temporarily increases... (Default: On) Automatically increases the cache size for extended buffering of live streaming media when the clip is paused. Temporary files are deleted and the cache size is returned to normal when playback is finished.

On-Demand Internet Clips:

Cache on-demand... (Default: On) A temporary buffer of non-live streaming media (such as on-demand media clips) is saved during playback.

Pause clip at start (Default: Off) When you select on-demand media, RealPlayer opens in pause mode as the media is buffered. Playback must be started manually.

Note: In all cases, pause will turn off automatically and playback will resume when the cache is full or you run low on disk space for your cache.

TurboPlay

Enable TurboPlay: (Default: On with connection speeds of 256 Kbps or greater) TurboPlay offers the fastest possible playback of links over a broadband connection by beginning playback as soon as RealPlayer is able, rather than waiting until the minimum buffered play setting is met. (See Buffer... below.)

Note: Correct Bandwidth settings (see Connection Preferences) are critical for this feature to operate smoothly.

More Options

Buffer...: (Default: 30 sec.) Defines how much of a streaming clip RealPlayer will attempt to buffer before beginning playback. Enter the number of seconds of playback to buffer.

Note: Buffering is always enabled. This option sets only the size of the buffer.

Instantly Play.'.: (Default: Off) Clips that will normally be downloaded, or are running from a web server rather than a RealServer, are buffered, allowing playback to begin as soon as possible rather than after the clip has finished downloading.
