Description

Watch Folders

RealPlayer will automatically scan watch folders for media files that you've downloaded or copied with a stand-alone browser or other programs. It will then create clips in My Library for all of the new files that are detected.

Check Watch Folders.. every XX minutes

(Default: 60) Sets the time between scans. Setting this preference will also set it in Automatic Services.

Include commonly used media folders (available only if Check Watch Folders is enabled)

(Default: On) RealPlayer will automatically add to your watch list the media folders used by other media players installed on your computer. This will not change which player is the default player for your files, but it will add a clip to My Library for any file you download with other programs without having to initiate a scan or to individually add the files.

Add Folder: Opens a "Browse for Folder" dialog where you can select and add a folder to your watch list. Click OK to add the selected folder and to close the dialog. (RealPlayer can watch more than one folder.)

Remove Folder: Removes the selected folder from the watch list.

Configure Columns

With this preference, you can customize the way standard clip categories (such as Playlists or Music) appear in My Library.

Current View: From the drop-down list, select the clip category that you want to configure.

Columns: Select the columns (information fields) that you want to appear in the clip Display area of My Library.

Move Up/Move Down: Change the order in which the columns are displayed in the clip Display area. Select a column name in the list. Then click the Move Up or Move Down button to move the selected name up or down in the list, moving the column left or right in the Display area.

Show/Hide: Add or remove the selected column to the clip Display area of My Library.

Column width: Edit the column width for the currently selected column.

Configure Custom Columns

With Custom Columns, you can display non-standard information in My Library. Enter a name and select a data field for any of the three custom columns that you want to display.

Column Display Name: Enter a name for the field that will appear as the column header in My Library and in the Configure Columns list (see above). These names will also be used to label the Database Custom 1-3 data fields in Clip Info.

Show Info From: Select a custom or preset Track data field from the drop-down list. (Database Custom Fields 1-3 can be edited with the Edit Clip Info command or in the My Library display. Content providers supply the preset Track Info.)

Note: Editing a Database Custom Field does not change its display status. Change the display status by using the Configure Columns dialog, above.
