RealPlayer can play a variety of media types, including those on the internet, those stored as localRefers to computer resources (such as drives or files) that are part of a computer, or available on a local area network (LAN). files on your computer, or CDs and DVDs. Functionally, a media clipClips are shortcuts, not actual files. They link to an encoded unit of audio or video media that can be played by RealPlayer. They can be streamed or local. is similar to a shortcut or bookmark. It contains information about the media you have access to, such as title, artist, format, size and location. When you store or move media clips in your Library, you aren't moving the file associated with the clip; all you move is the clip information. Likewise, when you delete a clip or a playlist, all you are deleting are the clips, not the media files that the clips bookmark.
Note: If you choose to make a clip private in Private mode, the file on your hard drive will be renamed and moved to a new location. Learn more about Private mode
To view a history list of your most recently played clips, click and select File. You will see up to 8 numbered clips, with the most recently played clip at the top of the list.
To play a clip in the History list, double-click it.
To enable, disable, or clear your History list, open > Preferences > General to the "History" section.
