Playing Clips from the Library

When you save a video or audio media file on your computer with RealPlayer, you create a media clip in the Library. Use the following procedures to play individual clips or groups of clips from your Library.

How to Play a Clip

Double-click any individual clip in the Library to play it.

Play Clips from Categories

1. Open the Library.
2. All the clip categories are listed in the Display area. If they are not, click the Library link above the sidebar.
3. Double-click a clip category or subcategory to display the contents. Select the desired clip or clips.
4. Click Play in the sidebar Tasks area to play the selected clip or clips.

Play Clips from Playlists

1. Open the Library.
2. Click to list the available playlists and AutoPlaylists.
3. Click a playlist or AutoPlaylist to display the contents in the Display area.
4. Select a clip or clips from the playlist or AutoPlaylist.
5. Click Play in the sidebar Tasks area to play the selected clip or clips.

Note: When an AutoPlaylist is open, you can select Mix AutoPlaylist from the sidebar Tasks area to remix the clip set.

Play Clips from the Organizer

1. Open the Library.
2. If necessary, open the Organizer by selecting View > Show Organizer. Click to open folders.
3. Select and double-click a subcategory, playlist, or AutoPlaylist to start playing all the clips in the selection.

Good to Know

Playing a clip changes the Playlist pane. If in General Preferences your Clear the Playlist... option is selected, then the clip replaces the contents of the current Playlist pane. Otherwise the new clip is added to the bottom of the current list and then played.
